My scan / scanned document is not reading properly. What can I do?

Scan uses an technology called OCR (optical character recognition) to parse the text out of the document image. Occasionally, the OCR process can make mistakes and miss certain words, misinterpret text (i.e. it can read a quote sign as the number "11"!). Unfortunately, there's not much that can be done about this as we'll need the more technology to improve first.
